At Asustem Robotics, we believe STEM and creativity go hand in hand. While technology and innovation are at the heart of our programs, we also prioritize fostering artistic expression as a vital skill for well-rounded problem-solving.
Recently, in Kumasi, our students had the opportunity to step outside the robotics lab and dive into the world of art. Under the guidance of Coach Ray, they explored the basics of pencil drawing in just 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Their subject? A tribute to the Ashanti Kingdom—the King of Ashanti, Nana Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. In this short session, our students showed incredible potential, creating impressive sketches that captured the essence of this iconic figure.
This activity highlights the role of art in developing observational skills, attention to detail, and creative thinking—qualities that are just as important in STEM fields as in the arts.
Creativity in STEM: Why It Matters
Combining creativity with STEM education helps students think beyond formulas and algorithms. It encourages innovative problem-solving and allows students to express unique ideas in everything they create, from coding projects to artistic sketches.
