UEW Vice-Chancellor Launches SACOST Community STEM Clubs Project

We’re excited to share that Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has officially launched the SACOST Community STEM Clubs Project — a groundbreaking initiative designed to promote creativity, innovation, and practical learning among young learners.

In his inspiring keynote address, Prof. Mitchual highlighted the critical role of applied learning and problem-solving in STEM education. Drawing from his personal experience of developing a fufu-pounding machine, he illustrated how scientific knowledge can be used to solve real-life challenges and improve everyday living.

He further encouraged SACOST and its implementing partners, including Asustem Robotics Academy, to continue advancing impactful, community-based STEM programs that equip learners with the skills to think critically and innovate for social good.

This project represents a major step forward in nurturing young minds and transforming communities through STEM education — empowering the next generation to lead Africa’s technological and industrial growth.
